34th CST, law enforcement conduct joint training exercise - Sept. 13, 2024

Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen assigned to the Fort Barfoot-based 34th Civil Support Team conduct a joint exercise with local law enforcement agencies Sept. 13, 2024, at Richmond Raceway in Henrico County, Virginia. During the exercise, the CST’s survey team members partnered with law enforcement officers and bomb technicians to conduct Joint Hazard Assessment Team training, sweeping for and identifying chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats. The 34th CST can identify unknown substances, assess current and projected consequences, advise an incident commander on response measures and assist with requests for additional state support.
