AG speaks with campers, Commonwealth ChalleNGe employees during SMR visit - July 31, 2025

Maj. Gen. James W. Ring, the Adjutant General of Virginia, visits campers and volunteers from the Virginia National Guard Youth Camp and staff members with the Commonwealth ChalleNGe Youth Academy July 31, 2025, at the State Military Reservation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 20th annual Virginia National Guard Youth Camp ran from July 26-Aug. 1 and featured educational activities, team building exercises, a flag retirement ceremony, an afternoon at the beach and field trips to local attractions. The CCYA is a 17-and-a-half-month program that is structured in a military-style environment designed to promote academics, attention to detail, time management and leadership, while promoting self-esteem, confidence and pride.
