Virginia Guard Soldiers on snow duty in Fairfax - Feb. 10-11, 2010

Soldiers from the Sandston-based Battery A, the Norfolk-based Battery B and the Hampton-based Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery Regiment and the Norfolk-based Company G, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team assist with snow recovery operations in Fairfax County, Va., Feb. 10-11, 2010. Soldiers and vehicles were located at fire stations throughout the county to assist emergency responders and Soldiers provided transportation and other services to the Fairfax County Emergency Operations Center. Nearly 500 Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard were on state active duty throughout Virginia supporting snow recovery operations during the February storms.
