Virginia Guard on duty for winter storm assistance - Feb. 5-12, 2010

The Virginia Department of Military Affairs staged several hundred personnel from the Virginia Army and Air National Guard and Virginia Defense Force at key locations in the commonwealth in order to respond to a series of winter storms that first hit Virginia Feb. 5. Gov. Bob McDonnell declared a state of emergency Feb. 3 and authorized up to 500 DMA personnel for state active duty.
