Task Force 183 Soldiers train on base defense operations -- June 16, 2011

Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard's Task Force 183 train on base defense operations June 16 at Camp Atterbury, Ind. As part of the training, Soldiers operated and entry control point that required vehicle and personnel searches, and they also operated the base command post where they tracked all the activities taking place in the immediate area. Approximately 825 Soldiers from across the commonwealth are on federal active duty as part of Task Force 183 and are preparing for duty in Iraq where they are scheduled to conduct convoy security and base defense operations.
