SPS and Adjutant General recognize state employees -- May 10, 2012
Virginia Secretary of Public Safety Marla Graff Decker, Deputy Secretary Banci Tewolde and Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, recognize employees at Virginia National Guard's Maneuver Training Center Fort Pickett May 10 near Blackstone. During the visit, Decker toured a number of different Fort Pickett facilities and thanked the employees for the efforts in making the installation one of the premier military and homeland defense training destinations on the east coast. Long recognized the service of state employees during the annual recognition event. Decker's visit is in conjunction with Governor Bob McDonnell's "Virginia: Growing Strong" weeklong statewide tour taking place May 7 through May 12, where the governor's cabinet will travel across the state meeting with stakeholders and highlighting the successes of each organization. Over the next week, cabinet secretaries will hold more than 50 events and meetings all across the Commonwealth.
