Task Force 183 conducts Freedom Salute for service in Iraq--April 15, 2012
Virginia Secretary of Public Safety Marla Graff Decker and Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., Adjutant General of Virginia, thank the approximately 825 Soldiers of the Portsmouth-based Task Force 183 and their families during a Freedom Salute for their sacrifices to the commonwealth April 15 in Virginia Beach. The Freedom Salute honored the Soldiers and their families for the Task Force’s federal active service, which began June 1, 2011 and served in Iraq from August to December of the same year.
