Support battalion Soldiers make high quality H2O - June 15, 2012

Soldiers from the South Boston-based Company A, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team use the Light Water Purification System to create fresh drinking water June 15 at Fort Pickett. The water is distributed to Soldiers in the rest of the battalion conducting annual training at Fort Pickett. The LWP can produce about 125 gallons of water per day and store up to a 1,000 gallons. The company also has the larger Tactical Water Purification System that can produce 125 gallons of water per hour and store up to 12,000 gallons. The water is tested every two hours to make sure that it remains safe to drink.
