Warrant officer candidates help beautify Blackstone - June 23, 2012
Warrant Officer Candidates from the Virginia and Washington, D.C. National Guard paint curbs in Blackstone June 23 as part of their Warrant Officer Candidate School coursework. Four candidates from Class 12-001 painted 20 no parking zone curbs on Main Street in downtown Blackstone. The community service project is part of the official curriculum established by Fort Rucker for all warrant officer candidates and gives candidates a chance to plan and execute an operation from start to finish. The warrant officer candidate course begins with a distance-learning phase, followed by several drill weekends at Fort Pickett and then culminates in a two-week annual training phase at Camp Atterbury, Ind., which begins for Class 12-001 July 13.
