Virginia Guard mechanics, operators gain familiarity with new ASV – Oct. 12, 2012

Virginia Guard mechanics and vehicle operators from various units train on the M1117 Armored Security Vehicle Oct. 12 at Fort Pickett as part of the Virginia Beach-based 229th Military Police Company’s new equipment training for the massive, multi-ton vehicles. Mechanics are learning how to effectively care for the vehicle at Fort Pickett’s Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site, while future operators of the vehicle are learning the basics of maneuvering the ASV as part of the new equipment training taking place Oct. 9-19.
