Va. Guard hosts regional ESGR signing ceremony - Nov. 12, 2012

The Virginia National Guard hosts a regional Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support Signing Ceremony with Walmart Nov. 12, 2012, at Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach. Kate Mora, regional general manager of Walmart Region 41, which includes Virginia, signed the pledge reaffirming Walmart’s commitment to work with veterans as they return from service and seek employment, and approximately 20 Walmart associates currently serving in Guard or Reserve or retired from military service attended as well. Steve Villalpando, state chairman of the ESGR Virginia State Committee, served as the master of ceremonies for the event, and Virginia Secretary of Public Safety Marla Graff Decker, State Senator Frank Wagner and Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, provided remarks. In addition to the signing ceremony at Camp Pendleton, Walmart conducted a national Statement of Support signing initiative at nine other regional locations and a corporate office signing ceremony.
