Soldiers of B Co., 1-116th execute platoon live-fire exercise - June 15-16, 2013

Infantry Soldiers of the Lexington-based Company B, 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team conduct platoon live-fire exercises June 15-16, 2013. As infantrymen assaulted the objective with M4 rifles, M240 B machine guns, and M249 Squad Automatic Weapons, forward observers on the ground called for fire from the company’s nearby mortarmen. Engineers from Fredericksburg-based Company A, Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team attached to Company B for the exercise to provide obstacle-breaching capabilities.
