Governor hosts reception to recognize Virginia Guard

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell thanks members of the Virginia National Guard for their service to the citizens of Virginia and for their federal active duty service, during a reception held July 31, 2013, at the Executive Mansion in Richmond. McDonnell also shared his observations about the important role of Guard and Reserve forces after his recent trip to Kuwait and Afghanistan. He met with Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard's Emporia-based 1710th Transportation Company July 25, 2013, at Kandahar Airfield where he presented them with a Virginia flag and held a town hall style meeting.
