SPS and AG visit troops serving on state active duty - Feb. 13, 2014
Secretary of Public Safety Brian Moran, Deputy Secretary of Public Safety Tonya Vincent, Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Green, the Virginia National Guard's senior enlisted leader, visit Guard Soldiers serving on state active duty in Richmond, Petersburg and Powhatan Feb. 13, 2014. Long and Green first visited the Soldiers and members of the Virginia Defense Force working in the Virginia Emergency Operations Center in Richmond, then the group visited Petersburg and Powhatan where Soldiers from the 276th Engineer Battalion were staged and ready to respond. At each location they thanked the Soldiers for their service as part of more than 200 Va. Guard personnel on duty in response to severe winter weather across the commonwealth.
