Virginia schoolhouse trains Guard, active duty Soldiers light infantry skills - May 8, 2014

National Guard Soldiers from Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee, Ohio and New York, along with active duty Soldiers from Fort Bragg, participate in the culminating field training exercise of Light Leaders Course May 8, 2014, at Fort Pickett, Va. The two-week course was taught by noncommissioned officers from the 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute and aims to teach junior infantry leaders, from the rank of specialist to staff sergeant, effective small unit leadership skills through field training, weapons familiarization, land navigation, communications and infantry tactics training.
