Adjutant General speaks with Young Marines at Camp Pendleton - July 1, 2014

Brig. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, greets approximately 50 Young Marines from around the country July 1, 2014, at Camp Pendleton, Va. Young Marines are conducting their Advanced Leadership School June 26- July 12 at Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach. The Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school, which promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines is the focal point for the U.S. Marine Corps' Youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts. Advanced Leadership School is a leadership program for Young Marines who have exhibited exceptional maturity and leadership skill in their units. It is devoted to honing skills in leadership, close order drill, physical training, and techniques of military instruction.
