Va. Guard aviation detachment returns from Afghanistan - Aug. 8, 2014

Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard's Sandston-based Detachment 26, Operational Support Airlift Command reunite with family, friends and fellow Soldiers Aug. 8, 2014, after serving on federal active duty in Afghanistan since October 2013. The 10 Soldiers of the detachment provided fixed wing aviation support for Task Force CEASAR's electronic warfare mission and flew more than 800 missions over 2,200 flight hours. Soldiers returned individually to the airport closest to their home of record and a formal welcome home ceremony will be scheduled in approximately 90 days.
