Delegate Garrett presents resolution commending Lynchburg-based Va. Guard infantry battalion - Oct. 11, 2014

Delegate T. Scott Garrett, R-Lynchburg, presents House Joint Resolution No. 320 from the Virginia General Assembly commending the Virginia National Guard's Lynchburg-based 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Oct. 11, 2014, at Fort Pickett, Va. The resolution recognized the Soldiers of the 1st Battalion being presented the Walter T. Kerwin, Jr., Readiness Award at a ceremony Oct. 21, 2013, and recognized as the most combat-ready Army National Guard battalion in the nation. After making the presentation, Garrett talked with senior leaders from the battalion, then visited Soldiers conducting individual and crew served weapons qualifications during their drill weekend.
