Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Strike Team trains at Camp Pendleton - Oct. 16, 2015
Members of the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Strike Team prepare for a day-long training exercise Oct. 15, 2015, at Camp Pendleton Collective Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. The HRMMST consists of fire and rescue personnel, physicians, allied health care professionals, logistics personnel and law enforcement personnel from across the Hampton Roads region. It is a regionally available, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives-trained medical emergency response team and is a component of the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Medical Response System. The HRMMST conducts bi-monthly training and scheduled a full drill of its capabilities at Camp Pendleton. Camp Pendleton is a state-owned 328-acre installation which provides training facilities for National Guard units, as well as all other Department of Defense, active duty and reserve units as well as public safety organizations.
