Virginia Soldiers, NCOs compete for Best Warrior title - Feb. 23-24, 2018

Soldiers and noncommissioned officers compete in the Virginia National Guard Best Warrior Competition, held Feb. 22-25, 2018, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Five NCOs joined five junior enlisted Soldiers in the match and the group competed against one another in events including a 6.2 mile ruck march, a shooting match that included qualification on both rifle and pistol, an obstacle course, a hand grenade toss and a written exam. At the close of the match, winners will be named from both the NCO group and the junior Soldier group, in addition to an overall winner who will earn the title of Best Warrior for the state.
