Senior leaders send off aviation maintenance detachment

Virginia National Guard senior leaders send off Soldiers assigned to the Sandston-based Detachment 2, Company B, 777th Aviation Support Battalion June 11, 2016, in Sandston, Virginia, as they depart for federal active duty training in Texas. Brig. Gen. Walter Mercer, Virginia National Guard Assistant Adjutant General-Army, Command Sgt. Maj. Cheyenne Johnson, Virginia Army National Guard Command Sergeant Major, and Lt. Col. Kevin Warfield, Virginia National Guard state aviation officer, talked with family members and shoot hands with Soldiers before their boarded their plans. Detachment 2 is expected to provide rotary wing maintenance support to the U. S. Central Command area of operations.
