Artillery Soldiers represent modern military at Jamestown history event
Virginia National Guard Soldiers represent the modern military at the Military Through the Ages event March 18, 2018, at Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, Virginia, and Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, presents awards to the top re-enactor units. Soldiers assigned to the Hampton-based Battery B, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team took part in a demonstration of 500 years of Virginia artillery, and one Soldier served as a crew members from three different centuries firing a 17th century artillery piece. Representatives from Jamestown also presented Williams with items that will be on display in the entry hall of the new Virginia National Guard headquarters building under construction at Defense Supply Center in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
