State staff enjoys first DMA Fall Festival at Fort Pickett - Sept. 26, 2019
Department of Military Affairs employees enjoy a cookout and a day of recreation during the inaugural DMA Fall Festival Sept. 26, 2019, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. The state staff first listened to an encouraging messages from Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and a review of the DMA strategic plan objectives and vision for the team from retired Brig. Gen. Walt Mercer, the Chief Operations Officer for DMA, before getting a virtual tour of Fort Pickett from Maneuver Training Center Fort Pickett leadership. Retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Al Barnes, the Virginia National Guard command historian, also gave a Fort Pickett history presentation before the cookout, which included prizes for best side dish and dessert and a corn hole tournament.
