VDF conducts communication exercise in Winchester - Sept. 12, 2020

Members of the Virginia Defense Force conduct a communication exercise Sept. 12, 2020, in Winchester, Virginia. Personnel from the VDF’s 1st Regiment, Support Operations Group and Force Headquarters collaborated to test multiple voice communications systems to prepare for support to the Winchester Apple Blossom Festival. ABF is an enduring mission for the VDF, with personnel augmenting law enforcement to help ensure the flow of traffic for one of the largest tourist events on the East Coast. Effective communications are essential to mission success, and rehearsals and equipment tests will help make sure the VDF is fully prepared to provide the support capabilities requested by the locality.
