AG, FOG Men tour historic restorations at MATES - Sept. 23, 2020

Maj. Gen. Timothy P Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, tours the Maneuver Area Training Equipment Site with the Friends of the Guard volunteer group Sept. 23, 2020, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. During the tour, Williams and retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Al Barnes, the Virginia National Guard command historian, along with the FOG Men, visited with Soldiers working at the MATES facility, including those in the process of restoring and preserving several historical military vehicles. Barnes and the FOG Men, a tight-knit group of retirees and veterans, have been volunteering their time weekly for more than a year to help preserve several items in the VNG historic collection.
