MTC, Town of Blackstone sign updated water, wastewater agreement - Feb. 22, 2021

Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Philip Vannoorbeeck, the Blackstone town manager, ceremonially sign an updated water and wastewater agreement between Maneuver Training Center Fort Pickett and the Town of Blackstone Feb. 22, 2021, in Blackstone, Virginia. The agreement is mutually beneficial for both entities, increasing capacity for the town and reducing the costs of water and wastewater connections for new construction at MTC. Retired Brig. Gen. Walt Mercer, the Virginia Department of Military Affairs Chief Operations Officer, and Col. Paul Gravely, the MTC garrison commander, also attended the ceremony. During the event, Vannoorbeeck presented Williams with the ceremonial key to the town as a symbol of the ongoing partnership between Blackstone and the Virginia National Guard.
