VDF personnel recognized for support to COVID-19 response - May 25, 2021

Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams, the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Brig. Gen. James W. Ring, Director of the Virginia National Guard Joint Staff, present the Virginia Army National Guard Commendation Medal to Lt. Col. (Va.) James Newman and Maj. (Va.) Joseph Wallace May 25, 2021, at the Virginia Emergency Operations Center in Richmond, Virginia. The Virginia Defense Force officers assisted the Virginia Department of Emergency with operational planning and support during the statewide COVID-19 response, the longest sustained civil support operation in the commonwealth’s recent history.
