Command Sgt. Maj. Smith visits Red Dragons during AT - Aug. 6, 2021

Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald L. Smith, the Virginia Army National Guard command sergeant major, meets with Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Bedford-based Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, during annual training Aug. 6, 2021, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. During the visit, he presented the Army Commendation Medal to Spc. Michael Choi, who won the 2021 Virginia National Guard Best Warrior Competition and placed third in the 2021 Army National Guard Region II Best Warrior Competition. He also spoke with Soldiers about promotions, benefits, career guidance, retirement and bonuses.
