Lt. Col. Andrew J. Tipton takes command of the Virginia National Guard’s Danville-based 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from Lt. Col. Alyssa Y. Astphan during a change of command ceremony held May 15, 2022, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Maj. Gen. John Rhodes, 29th Infantry Division Commanding General, presided over the exchange of the unit colors representing the transfer of command from Astphan to Tipton.
