Taylor conducts final flight - Sept. 11, 2022

Col. William X. “Wild Bill” Taylor, the Virginia Army National Guard’s outgoing State Aviation Officer, conducts his final flight aboard a UH-72 Lakota helicopter Sept. 11, 2022, at the Virginia Army National Guard’s Army Aviation Support Facility in Sandston, Virginia. Following the flight, Taylor was met by a crowd of family members, friends, senior leaders and fellow Soldiers, who all came to congratulate him on his retirement. Taylor has more than 34 years of military service, having served in the National Guard of several states including Minnesota, Texas and Virginia, as well as at the National Guard Bureau.
