Handegard takes command of 34th CERFP’s Medical Detachment 1 - Jan. 7, 2023

Lt. Col. Sarah E. Handegard takes command of the Virginia Air National Guard’s Richmond-based Medical Detachment 1, 192nd Medical Group, 192nd Wing, during a ceremony Jan. 7, 2023, at the S. Gardner Waller Depot in Richmond, Virginia. Col. Frank Y. Yang, commander of the 192nd Medical Group, presided over the ceremony and passed the detatchment’s guidon to Handegard, symbolizing the assumption of command. Medical Detachment 1 serves as the medical element of the Richmond-based 34th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High-Yield Explosives Enhanced Response Force Package, also known as CERFP.
