VNG Soldiers kick off Warrior Stakes squad competition - June 13, 2023

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to multiple battalions in the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and 329th Regional Support Group kick off the 2023 Warrior Stakes squad competition with pre-combat inspections, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter cold load training and land navigation June 13, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. Hosted by the Frederickburg-based 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th IBCT, the competition includes two squads from the 229th as well as squads from the Petersburg-based 276th Engineer Battalion and Danville-based 429th Brigade Support Battalion. Over the three days of Warrior Stakes, Soldiers will compete in a series of events to test their military skills, endurance and teamwork.
