VNG Soldiers conduct urban operations during Warrior Stakes squad competition - June 14, 2023

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to multiple battalions in the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and 329th Regional Support Group conduct an urban operations lane during the 2023 Warrior Stakes squad competition June 14, 2023, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. Hosted by the Fredericksburg-based 229th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 116th IBCT, the competition includes two squads from the 229th as well as squads from the Petersburg-based 276th Engineer Battalion and Danville-based 429th Brigade Support Battalion. During the urban operations lane, Soldiers conducted mechanical and explosive door breaches, room clearing, rope traverse, sniper rifle engagement, rappelling down an elevator shaft and helicopter movement.
