276th Engineer Soldiers complete Mountain Warfare School - July 2023

Congratulations to 2nd Lt. Samantha Simmons and Staff Sgt. Steven Moniuszko on completing Mountain Warfare School at Camp Ethan Allen, Vermont!

Simmons, a plans officer assigned to the operations section of the 276th Engineer Battalion Headquarters, completed the course in July 2023. Moniuszko, a squad leader assigned to the 237th Engineer Company, completed the course in January 2023.

Moniuszko is also a graduate of the Army Sapper Leader Course. Simmons is scheduled to attend the Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course in January 2024 and plans to attend Sapper School after her basic course is complete.

In recent years, the Virginia National Guard has conducted an annual mountain warfare exchange with the Republic of Tajikistan as a component of the State Partnership Program, and the 276th will now have more personnel qualified to support the exchange with the graduation of Simmons and Moniuszko.
