Award streamers from Iraq deployment added to 276th colors - July 20, 2024
First Sgt. Charles “Chip” Jones and Sgt. 1st Class Terrance Seay attach a Meritorious Unit Commendation streamer and a Valorous Unit Award streamer to the 276th Engineer Battalion colors July 20, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia. The 276th Engineer Battalion received the awards for its deployment to Nineveh Province in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II in 2004 and 2005. After the unit’s return, the streamers representing these awards went missing, but the battalion leadership recently procured replacement streamers which were added back to the colors. In addition to Jones and Seay, several other current and former Soldiers of the battalion who participated in that deployment were present including retired Brig. Gen. James Zollar, Col. Chris Dunn, Lt. Col. Eric Johnson, Master Sgt. Timothy Richey, Sgt. 1st Class Derek Martin, Sgt. 1st Class Jason Ellsworth and Sgt. 1st Class Thomas Frantz.
