Maj. Mark P. Ford takes command of the Virginia National Guard’s Lynchburg-based 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from Lt. Col. Brandon W. Price during a change of command ceremony Sept. 14, 2024, in Lynchburg, Virginia. Col. Jared D. Lake, commander of the 116th IBCT, presided over the change of command ceremony and the exchange of organizational colors signifying the transfer of command from Price to Ford.
