Houdon's Statue of Washington in Capitol Building, Richmond, Va.

Card Text (transcribed from postcard): This beautiful marble statue was presented to the nation by the state of Virginia. The sculptor, Jean Antoine Houdon, visited Mount Vernon, and was permitted to take casts and measurements which enabled him to make his statue the most correct portrayal of Washington extant.
