Libby Prison, Richmond, Va.

Card Text (transcribed from postcard): In this famous building, which formerly stood on the corner of 20th & Cary Sts., thousands of captured Federal officers were imprisoned during the war. On one occasion 19 successfully effected their escape by tunneling under its walls. Was dismantled in 1893, re-erected in Chicago for exhibition purposes during the World's Fair, and is now there.
