Card Text (transcribed from postcard): This venerable building with its weather-worn walls of stone boulders, is reputed to be the oldest in the city, having been erected (probably in 1737) , by Jacob Ege, a German emigrant in whose family it remained for several generations. It is now owned and maintained by the Ass'n. for the Preservation of Va. Antiquities.
