Card Text (transcribed from postcard): The inscriptions on this modest shaft succinctly tell the story of Fitzhugh Lee's service to his country, as follows: 'Fitzhugh Lee, of Virginia, Nov. 1835-1905. Faithful Unto Death, Major-General C.S.A. 1862-1865. Commanding Cavalry Corps A. N. V. 1864-1865. Governor of Virginia 1886-1890. Consul-General to Cuba 1896-1898. Major-General Commending 7th Army Corps U. S. V. 1898. Brig. General U.S.A. Retired 1901.'
