Hi. Kay's books are awesome but there are specific hurdles to learning XSL at the start that would make me want to recommend an intro book or tutorial before jumping into a full on descriptive/reference book like Kay's.
By the same token, for this particular language a cookbook is less likely to be a good resource. You might check out the book linked below. I haven't read this, but it gets good reviews.
