To obtain the student edition of SolidWorks 2013-2014, users must fill out an online form with their school ID and select the compatible version for their operating system before downloading. SolidWorks Download, Installation, and Activation Instructions

1. To obtain your copy of the student edition of SolidWorks go to


[Link]/sek and fill out the form as shown below.
a. All fields are required
b. School License ID, SDK-ID or SEK-ID: XSEK12
c. VAR Name (if available): MLC-CAD
d. Version: 2013-2014 (SolidWorks is NOT backwards compatible. Selecting the
2012-2013 version will not allow you to read any files created or saved on the
Universitys computers.)

2. Click on the Accept Agreement and Continue button.

3. Read the instructions on this page before proceeding.
4. Click Download of the version that is compatible with your operating system (32-bit or
64-bit). SolidWorks 2013-2014 is NOT compatible with Windows XP or the MAC
operating systems.
5. The student version of SolidWorks requires an activation code. You can obtain the
activation code from your professor or by emailing me through your SPSU email account
at gconrey@[Link]. You may obtain the code only if you are a current student, staff,
or faculty member at SPSU. SolidWorks 2013-2014 is good through December 2014 at
which time you may download the new version as long as you are still a student, staff or
faculty member at SPSU.
****IMPORTANT****
Once you have installed and activated SolidWorks, go to my web page at
[Link] and follow the instructions to download and
setup the MET Templates. Failure to setup the templates will result in incorrect
parts and drawings. The templates have been updated, so please download and
setup the new files.
