Creative commons (CC)

CC licences allow people to legally share content online without having permission.

CC are used when people want others to share or help develop their work and ideas.

Attribution

Work can be shared, copied or modified, but the copyright holder MUST be credited.

Share-alike

Modified work can only be distributed with the same terms as the original.

Non-commercial

Nobody can use the work for profit.

No derivative works

Can be copied and distributed but cannot be modified or built upon.

The different licences can be combined to give different rules for use.

Creative commons (CC) recap

The non-commercial creative common allows for work to be used for non-profit making purposes.

Share-alike allows products to be used under the same terms as the original.

No derivative works means that a product cannot be edited from its original condition.

The attribution creative common means work can be shared, copied or modified, if the owner is
acknowledged.
