MODULE 4

MAINTAINING TOOLS AND


EQUIPMENTS
OBJECTIVE:
Upon completion of this module, the participants will be able to:
1.Identified functional and non-functional tools and equipment
2.Observed and applied safe handling of tools and equipment and safety work
practices
3.Store tools and equipment safety in appropriate locations and in accordance
with company practices

DURATION: 3 hours

SESSIONS:
1.Check condition of tools and equipment
2.Perform basic preventive maintenance
3.Store tools and equipment
1. Materials ,tools and equipment are identified according to
classification and Job Requirement

2. Non- functional tools and equipment are segregated and labeled


according to Classification

3. Safety of tools and equipment are observed in accordance with


manufacture’ Instruction

4. Condition of PPE Are Checked in accordance with


manufacture’s instructions

Conditions/ resources

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

1. Inventory of tools, instruments and equipment are


conducted and recorded as per company practices.

2. Tools and equipment are stored safety in appropriate locations


in accordance with Manufacturer’s specifications or company
procedures.
SESSION 3: STORE TOOLS
AND EQUIPMENT
• Secure inventory form / memorandume receipt of toolsand equipment
• Study the parts of the inventory form
• Check whether the list tools and equipment in the memorandum reciepts
tallies whith the tools and equipment found in the workshop including
specification and condition
• List down any loss and damage found during inventory
form for any loss / damage

• Fill out remarks column of the inventory form for any


loss and damage

• Recommend for replacement of lost tools and equipment


and repair of damaged tools and equipment if reapairable
