Alarm Configuration in Ericsson System

If a fallback to the previous Ericsson system is necessary during a swap, the alarms must be configured according to the Ericsson system. The 37-pin connector to the Ericsson RBS does not need to be remade during fallback; only the correct alarm cable needs to be punched into the right slot in the Krone block. Grameenphone uses nine alarms identified in their network, which can be supported by both 13-pair and 16-pair alarm cables that use consistent color pairings between cables to identify each alarm type. Taking clear photos of the Krone block configuration before a swap can help avoid confusion during any necessary fallback.

GP ALARM CONFIGURATION IN ERICSSON SYSTEM

If we can not avoid FALLBACK during swap night we have to configure the alarms according to previous system (Ericsson system). At that time alarm configuration may be needed. During the FALLBACK we dont need to remake 37 pin connector which is connected to Ericsson RBS. We just need to punch the alarm cable in Krone Block. The most important thing is that right alarm cable must be punched in right slot of Krone Block.

GP is using nine alarms for its network at present:

Temperature high Mains fail Battery disconnected pre alarm Rectifier module fail Aviation light failure Generator running Fuel level low Water level high Door open

In GP network two types of alarm cables are used:

Basically in both types of alarm cable (13 & 16 pairs) same pair of colors are used for each alarm. For example, in both cases white & blue combination is used for temperature alarm. So we dont need to be bother about the number of pairs of the cable. However, Taking of clear pictures of Krone Block before swap started is also a smart way to avoid confusion during FALLBACK.
