What is Creative Commons?

Creative Commons is a non-profit
organization designed to institute
free legal tools to allow “sharing
and use of creativity and
knowledge” by using specialized
copy right licenses that can lift the
traditional restrictive covenant of
“all rights reserved”.
Why Does It Matter?

Creative Commons licenses and
tools give creators options on who
can use their material and how they
can use them.
Without using the right license to
share, use, and modify rights, all
rights are retained by the creator of
the material and cannot legally be
used.
