What is link aggregation functionality?
Link aggregation is also called trunking, which can greatly improve network performance and stability.
Link aggregation is implemented by bonding together two or more data channels into a single channel to appear as a single, high-bandwidth, logical link. All the bonded interfaces are treated as one “superior” interface. It multiples the bandwidth between the devices, increases port flexibility and provides link redundancy and fault tolerance if each of the aggregated links follows a different physical path. However, link aggregation can not work with port redundancy function. If any other configuration, such as MNET or VLAN, is above a bonded interface, link aggregation should be configured before MNET or VLAN configuration.
