There are 35,000 images available under the CC search functionality, and they are a good place for people to share their camphone or other images/video using CC licensing.
Remix Reading
![]() |
Remix Reading is an artistic project based in Reading, UK. It's aim is to get artists (working with music, video, images and text) to come together and share their work, be inspired by each others' work, and ultimately to create "remixes". All material on the web site is released under a Creative Commons license, which allows you to customise your copyright so others can use, copy, and share your work as you choose.
Loca Records
![]() |
LOCA Records are the pioneers of providing music online released through free and open licences. They have been releasing records copyleft since 1999 and have used a variety of different licenses and approaches (GPL/Open Audio/CC-BY-SA). They take an innovative approach to Intellectual Property and releasing records, concentrating on finding and developing new artists. Loca releases 1000 copy runs in physical formats such as vinyl and CD, this, they believe, gives the release an added aesthetic aura. These releases are then licensed under the creative commons attribution-sharealike license which permits others to freely use the work providing that it is released under the same license. The share-alike component enables free use by their customers and fans, but does not preclude further commercial licensing, for instance for film or television use (who may wish to avoid the share-alike clause). The advantages of this business model are a more positive relationship with customers and the ability to expand a band's audience through online peer2peer networks and websites (without the usual worries about copyright infringement and liability). The music they discover is generally counter-mainstream as the recently released and highly-rated WARD album (cat. no. LOCAIX) demonstrates, but they are generally agnostic on style and open to new and exciting music projects and ideas.
A Consuming Experience Blog
A blog by Improbulus. Thoughts on my experiences as a consumer of products, services, people (well maybe not that last one...), from reviews to raves, rants and random thoughts - concentrating on technology, gadgets, software, product usability, consumer issues, customer service. Including some introductory guides and tips on various subjects (like blogging!) which stumped me until I figured them out. And the occasional ever so slightly naughty observation.
