I usually end up with asynchronous operations in my custom target functions, and need to update the new value (or not) based on a response from the server. This commit is an idea for sending a response handler function to the custom target function, similar to the way jquery-ui autocomplete works when defining a custom source function. I tried to stay compatibile with directly handling a target function return.
