WMF informed me recently that a few of their mobile app developers will be attending this year's hackathon to work on a prototype for an upload flow to Commons in the native Wikipedia iOS app (see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T390302). They're keen to collaborate with any one of us who might be at the hackathon as well.
I won't be attending in person this year, but I'll try to participate remotely and assist them as far as possible.
If anyone is keen, feel free to take a look at the Phabricator task and the hackathon page. I understand that most of us are Android devs, but Swift isn't too hard to learn, and they are looking for other talent as well (designers, feedback from experienced Commons users, etc).

I have a very basic understanding of Swift because I have integrated a KMP library in a Swift project before. I won't be able to attend in person, but can help remotely 🙂
